Failing at your New Year-New Body Plan?

Posted by Sarah on Tuesday, January 31, 2012

If you find yourself at the entering into February and failing hopelessly with your New Year health and fitness plan do not fear, we have taken the time to highlight a few key points to help keep you on track with sticking to your New Years resolutions. This might just be the little bit of inspiration and information that will keep you going.... at least until Easter.

1. Bitten off more than you can chew

With plenty of calorific foods, lazy days spent indoors keeping warm with family and friends, we tend to become a little restless.  The need to move, challenge, reboot, get in shape, lose a little weight and improve our general health and fitness can make us schedule an unrealistic training programme, over committing on time,  over pushing the body with no goals or rewards.  You can see how easily this kind of plan can fail without the right motivation, support and personal commitment.

2. Motivation

Our motivations can be a number of things, but giving yourself a motive that gives real leverage can give you effective results.  Motivations such as a concern with your physical health, doctors check ups/scares, a holiday or event to attend that requires you to be in great shape, experiencing intense life stress or just wanting to take better care of health and wellbeing.  Your motivation is only personal to you, but it will get your bottom off the sofa and you will want to commit to your New You Plan.

3. Support

You thrive on a  busy work schedule, enjoy a hectic social life and keep up with eventful commitments with family and the home. This alone can be enough to deal with. Provide yourself with the right support from a teacher-trainer that will encourage, motivate and give inspired training session and great advice.  This is vital at the beginning stages of a work out commitment, as they can save you brain space not only emotionally and motivationally but a personal programme designed just for you working on your needs and goals.   With a one to one service, they can correct and advise you on where you might be going wrong and give you valuable insight in to you and your work out.

4.Location

There are many gyms, parks, centres, church halls to rush to get before your work out commences. Receiving one to one, motivational support at home could be the answer to making your life, health and fitness easier and more streamlined allowing  you to focus your energy and commitment to gaining all you need from your physical work out.  Having a trainer-teacher arrive to you at your home for a full sixty or ninety minutes can produce you the desired results that you want to achieve on a regular weekly basis.

5. Rewards

Punishing yourself endlessly with out a goal or reward can only end hopelessly with de-motivation, injuries and exhaustion from an overwhelming workout plan.  This happens more than we like to think, due to age and our lack of steady physical exercise in general.  Compliment your personal health and fitness plan with rewards such as massage bodywork, which can give you the much needed mental and physical rest and relaxation whilst also relieving any aches pains and stress. Leaving your energies renewed, lactic acids/toxins removed and giving you a sense of peace and balance.
